We are looking for a
Learning & Development ("L&D") Manager to join our team - a role where your expertise will drive meaningful outcomes and your ambition will help shape what comes next. Your role:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the Firm’s goals and objectives, so as to continuously align L&D to the Firm’s pillars.
- Work closely with the L&D Committee and the Partners to identify training needs specific to the skills required by BTWM team members at all levels. Scope of L&D will include technical accounting and assurance topics, automation tools including AI, and software applications.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture team to identify training needs in leadership, communication, and mentorship.
- Maintain the Firm learning resources within the BTWM Resource Hub to ensure content remains current, accessible, and aligned with L&D priorities.
- Lead the L&D Committee meetings by setting and driving the agenda.
- Create and maintain a L&D Plan for each staff level, to promote sustained growth and engaged learning.
- Update annual L&D budgets at all levels, and coordinate regular monitoring of actual hours with P&C team, L&D Committee and the Partners.
- Execute the curriculum, demonstrating end-to-end process ownership including: planning, delivery, coordination with support teams (IT, Administration, Events), gathering feedback, and measuring effectiveness
- Develop and/or review all training content including: preparation of course / participant / facilitator materials, leading train-the-trainer initiatives.
- Debrief all training to ensure continuous improvement and practical effectiveness, maximizing each team member’s results achieved from efforts expended.
- Assess and refine onboarding and orientation content at all levels.
- Identify additional learning opportunities with BT Canada, BT Global, and specialty providers (including professional bodies) to ensure professionals at BTWM are provided with appropriate resources to exceed client expectations (and at minimum, to meet CPA membership requirements).
- Prepare reports and present findings to the P&C team, the L&D Committee, and the Partners, demonstrating the contributions of L&D initiatives to Firm performance overall and to skills development of team members individually.
What you bring to the table:
- 6-8 years of experience in Learning & Development, preferably in professional services.
- Expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and evaluating learning impact.
- Understanding of technical and leadership frameworks, and experience diagnosing capability gaps and designing scalable training solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including executive communication and the ability to influence and build trust.
- Highly organized and proficient in managing multiple learning initiatives, development cycles and stakeholder relationships simultaneously.
- Understanding of CPA competency frameworks is expected.
